Subject: 8.5 client = great and 8.5 server = NSD...
Feedback Type: Problem
Product Area: Domino Server
Technical Area: Install
Platform: Windows 2003 server
Release: 8.5
Reproducible: Always
Well, clients install super well and is much faster than 8.0.x but the server.. Well, that is another story all together..
I got 3 users who upgraded to 8.5 yesterday. 2 on Windows XP and one on Linux. All 3 had no problem other than they all needed a reboot (1 of the XP came up from 7.0.3 and the other one and the Linux one were from 8.0.1) ....
Then I got home and attempted the upgrade on my personal server... From 8.0.1 to 8.5.. It installs really fast but it NSD even faster..
Naturally, I did this one like I did for the last 5 upgrades (except that this time proved to be the exception.. )
I had a backup of the Domino system but not of the whole VM. And.. well, it does not work . I even tried to uninstall everything and go back to the 8.0.1 version.. No dice..
I got a Windows 2003 32 bit running on VM1.0.7 sitting on a Windows 2003 64 bit server. I used the 8.5 32 bit installer (like I always did)
I tried to install using the old address book (the updated one and the not updated one) and the old ID's = NSD
I tried to install using the old credentials (server.id, Cert.id and admin.id) = NSD
I am now attempting to uninstall once more and reinstall. I have deleted the Lotus/Domino folder and I will delete all the temp files..
Do you think there is something else I should be looking at?
By the way, this server is my personal one. I use it production but it is really to goof up like that... :) So I am just having fun with it... What better way to learn?
